This is a specialist project and only available to people who:
- Live in Greater London (any London Borough).
- Are blind, deaf, have learning disabilities or are caring for a disabled child.
- And have debt/financial problems

The Financial Inclusion Fund Disability Project can offer Debt Advice to anyone living in Greater London who is blind, deaf, caring for a disabled child or who has learning disabilities.
Families with a disabled child face extra difficulties in making ends meet and in getting advice when they find themselves in debt.
People who are deaf or blind, and people with learning disabilities, cope with communication problems and find it hard to access debt advice.
This project has been funded by the government in order to help people in these circumstances. It is based at Camden Citizens Advice Bureaux Service and provides a debt advice service to anyone from these groups living in any Greater London borough.
If you are an agency and have clients who could benefit from this specialised service, we could arrange to see them at your premises, we could organise a regular advice session, or you can refer clients to us and we can make home visits if it is necessary.

What can we do?
- We can give you advice on any debt problem, large or small.
- We can make sure the correct benefits are being received.
- We can show you which bills are important.
- We can explain what can happen if you don’t pay.
- We can contact your creditors on your behalf.
- We can set up a payment plan you can afford.
- We can explain the action that creditors can take.
- We can help with budgeting and prioritising debts.
- We can negotiate with creditors and set up affordable payment arrangements.
What sort of information will we need to see?
- Rent or mortgage statements, gas, electricity, water, Council Tax bills.
We need to see how much you have to spend on living expenses and we help you add up all your income and all your outgoings. - Recent bills, statements and letters. We deal with debt by sorting out the priorities and negotiating those payments first. To do this, we need to see all your latest bills and statements and letters from creditors. This is so that we have details of the accounts and can see if any action has been taken.
If there is any money spare after your living expenses have been taken into account, we negotiate with credit card companies, banks, and anyone else you owe money to, to accept a proportion of what is left. - Bank statements, payslips, benefit and tax credit award letters. Creditors trust us to give them accurate information, so we need to see evidence about your income. If you would like this sort of help, please try to have as much of this information as possible ready for your first interview.
