The Housebound Service was set up in 1992 in recognition that older frail people and those with chronic health problems and their carers did not, or could not, use our general services based in Bureaux. Our experience over the past 12 years has confirmed how essential the service is as many of those we have seen have had little or no previous access to advice.
We are independent and impartial and all advice given is free and strictly confidential. As well as offering advice and undertaking casework, we are able to act as advocates for our clients, many of whom have suffered through lack of knowledge of their rights and from inequities in service provision.
The Service offers a Range of Advice on:
If we are unable to help the client ourselves we will try to refer them to someone who can.
