About Citizens Advice Camden
We are a well-respected local charity with more than 80 years’ experience of delivering free, independent and impartial information, advice and casework services which meet the changing needs of local residents. Our aims are to provide the independent, impartial, confidential and free advice people need for the problems they face and to improve the policies and practices that affect people’s lives.

We target our services at the most vulnerable in our community. Our client profile closely matches local indices of deprivation with most of our clients coming from the most deprived wards in the borough. We identify trends to ensure our services remain agile and able to respond to changing and emerging advice needs.

About the Role

This new full-time role is funded by The Hampstead Wells and Campden Trust (HWCT), a local charity keen to support the provision of high-quality advice and casework services to people living within the Trust’s area of benefit, see https://hwct.org.uk/.. HWCT has funded our Debt Advice North Camden (DANC) specialist debt service since 2018 and are now also funding this new role to provide additional capacity to support residents during the cost of living crisis.. Advice will be delivered on a hybrid model which will include delivery in outreach and community locations. Advice areas will range between welfare benefits, housing, employment, consumer and more.

We are excited to offer this as a paid trainee adviser role which is funded for one year. The ideal candidate will already have experience of delivering Adviceline or similar services and be looking for an opportunity to train as a Generalist Adviser. You will follow an accelerated training programme to develop the adviser skills and experience needed to provide holistic generalist advice. You will be supported to provide the high quality advice needed to meet auditing and funder requirements whilst delivering to funder targets. Although this is a trainee role, applicants will be expected to demonstrate that they meet the requirements of the role as set out in the person specification.
